What is a Java Applet? Small Java applications called Java Applets can be downloaded from a web server and run on your computer by a Java-compatible web browser, such as Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer. Java Applet Cautions Java Applets are handled differently by web browsers. Microsoft uses it's own brand of Java in Internet Explorer and Netscape uses the Sun version of Java. Both browsers will display Java Applets that have been made using the Java programming language standards. However, a Java Applet that works in one browser may not work in another browser. The Java Applets that come with Cool Page have been thoroughly tested and will work in all properly configured web browsers. Put a Java Applet on Your Page There are 2 methods of putting a Java Applet on your webpage: 1. Use one of the no programming needed Java Applets that come with the Cool Page program. Drag+Drop a Java Applet from the Objects window directly onto your page and configure it to use the desired images and/or text. 2. Use the HTML Object Tool to add the Java Applet to the page.
