Button Images |
What is a Button? A Button is a graphical representation of an electrical push-button, most often seen used in a software program or on a webpage. Buttons are used on webpages in place of plain text links. Examples: |
MouseOver Buttons MouseOver Buttons are easily made using Cool Page's DynamicGOO™. They require the use of several individual Button images or the use of Colored Boxes and/or Text Boxes. MouseOver effects are NOT limited to graphic image buttons. In fact, any object on the page can be used in a MouseOver effect. (See the MouseOver Guide for details) These are the types of Button images used in MouseOvers: • The appearance of the Button when the page loads, before the user interacts with it. • The appearance of the Button when the user places the mouse on top of it. The original Button is replaced with a separate Button image, usually looks highlighted, changes color, 3 dimensional etc. • The appearance of the Button when the user clicks on it. The image seen is a version of the Button in a depressed state. This type of Button image is used more in software programs than on webpages. Example: |
Change Text on Buttons Method 1 Open the Button image in a graphics program and edit it by erasing the existing text and replacing the text with your own. Method 2 1. Drag a Button with text from the Objects Window to your page. 2. Place a Colored Box on top of solid color area of the Button, on the word or words. 3. Make the colored box the same color as the button surface. (not the button words color) See Colors Guide. 4. Put a Text Box on top of the Colored Box and type the desired text. 5. Group the Button, Colored Box and Text Box to easily drag to any location on the page, at the same time. 6. Link the Button and the text to the same page or file. It is important to link both objects because some users may have show images turned off in their browser. Optional: Remove the underlines from text links on top of Buttons. Method 3 Use blank Button images (images without text) and steps 2-6 above. Get free blank Butons here. Method 4 Use colored boxes to draw a rectangular Button and place a text box on top. Group the colored boxes and text box. Link the text to a page or file. Example: |
