Inline Frames
|
Use this tool to add an Inline Frame to your webpage. An Inline Frame is a webpage that is embedded in another webpage. This is a handy method of displaying news or ads/promotions on your page.
Inline Frames ONLY work in Internet Explorer and Netscape 6.x browsers. Netscape 4.x browsers DO NOT support I-Frames.
An Inline Frame is NOT the same thing as a Frameset where the entire website is made of individual frames (webpages) that are embedded in one main page (the frameset page) such as coolpagehelp.com.
A Frameset is more robust and powerful than an Inline Frame. Automatic Framesets is a feature built into Cool Page Pro and Webmaster Editions. See the Frames Guide to learn more about this feature.

CAUTION: I-Frames are NOT a substitite for a real Frameset. Do NOT use a large I-Frame on your page. They will only show up in Internet Explorer browsers and Internet Explorer has a setting to disable I-Frames.
Therefore many viewers will have I-Frames disabled and will not see them on your pages. (some viewers, concerned about privacy, disable I-Frames to eliminate certain ads on webpages and their tracking mechanisms)

Instructions
|
1. Give your I-Frame a name. Any name will do. This name is used to identify the I-Frame in the code that is generated.
2. Enter the URL of the page that will load in your I-Frame. If the page is on your Host's server (your website) enter it as such: pagename.html. If the page is on a website other than yours enter the full URL as it appears in the address bar of a web browser: http://www.pagename.html.
3. Scrolling Options: Enable Scrolling, Disable Scrolling or use Auto Scrolling.
4. Frame Borders: Yes or No. (The example above has borders.)
5. I-Frame Dimensions: Enter the width and height of your I-Frame. This is measured by pixels. (The width of the exmple above is 450 pixels and the height is 200 pixels.)
6. Press the Generate button and Preview your I-Frame. In order to Preview your I-Frame the page that is to load in it MUST be on a web server. (To see a live Preview of the I-Frame use a page, in Step 2, that you have already published.)
7. Use the Cool Page HTML Object Tool to insert your I-Frame onto your page. Copy and paste the I-Frame code into the HTML Object Properties window. Click the General Tab and set the dimensions of the HTML Object slightly larger than the width and height of your I-Frame. Click here to learn the proper use of the HTML Object Tool.
