Invisible Objects
The Cool Page Invisible Object

The Cool Page program includes a feature of inserting an Invisible Object on the page.  An Invisible Object is a transparant GIF image file called
t.gif.  It is a very small image file, about 49 bytes.  Below are some of the uses of a transparant image.

Uses of Invisible Objects

1. Use an Invisible Object to safeguard your images and deter a viewer from "stealing" the images on your pages.  Image protection is especially of concern to artists who display images of their work on their websites.  Though there is no sure method of preventing image theft, this method is the easiest and best method to use.  See the
Image Copyrights Guide.

2. An Invisible Object can be used to create a Hot Spot on the page.  A Hot Spot is an area of the page that can be clicked upon just like some linked text or a visible linked image.  Because an Invisible Object is transparant, it is not seen by the viewer.  It is an image file and can be linked to other files, webpages etc.

Example:

Click anywhere just below this line of text.

3. Invisible Objects can be used with the
Events feature in the Webmaster version of Cool Page.

Example:

4. Invisible Objects can be used to create
Image Maps.

Invisible Objects can be used for a multitude of different effects.  Use your imagination to come up with more ways to use one and
tell us about it.

How to Put on Page

In the Cool page program, click the Insert Menu and then click on Invisible Object:
An Invisible Object wii apppear on your page near or at the top.  Use your mouse to drag this object anywhere on your page and use the mouse to resize the object by dragging it's edges or corners.  You will not be able to see the Invisible Object unless you have Cool Page configured to View Invisible Object Borders.  See below.

Invisible Object Borders

Because an Invisible Object is a transparant image, you will not be able to see this image on your page in the Cool Page window unless you configure Cool Page to View Invisible Object Borders.

To see the borders of an Invisible Object (or borders for ALL images on the page), put a checkmark next to Invisible Object Borders in the View Menu of Cool Page:
