Learn. Center - Chapter 5
Just like a cake, a webpage can have layers; an arrangement of objects on top of other objects. The first layer of any webpage is the background layer, either a color or an image. The background property was learned in Chapter 2.

You can layer objects by dragging one object on top of another object. You can
change the layer of an object using the Layer Tool.

This interactive demonstration, made using Cool Page Webmaster Edition, will show you how to use the Layer Button:

Demonstration
1. Click the gray Colored Box to move
it on top of the red box. Placing an
object on top of another object
    activates the Layer Button.

2. Click the Layer Button to change
layer of the gray Colored Box.

3. Click here to repeat demonstration.

Multiple Layers

You can layer more than two objects. There is no limit to the amount
of objects that can be layered. The example below is five layered
Colored Boxes and a Text Box.
