Screen Resolution

Cool Page uses exact pixel positioning of objects on the page. This means that wherever you place an object, that is where it will appear when viewed in a web browser. If your page is wider than the screen size of a viewer's computer, the web browser will automaticallly add horizontal scrollbars.

See the Screen Resolution Guide.

Use this tool to see how your site will look at diferent screen resolutions. Not all viewers use the same video display resolutions on their computers, therefore it is important to design your website to accomodate the majority of your viewers.

This tool will NOT change your display settings.
It will open a webpage in a new window that is sized to the specified dimensions and you will see how your page fits in the window, simulating different screen resolutions.

Instructions:

1. Enter the URL of website to be tested.
2. Press one of the preconfigured screen resolution buttons.
3. Optional: Enter a custom sized resolution and press the Test button.

Since most people have their video display resolution set to at least 800x600 these days, we recommend designing your pages for 800x600 resolution, keeping the page objects within the actual inner window dimensions as shown in the above textarea after this test is conducted. More info about how the page fits to browser windows at Cool Page FAQ's.

A future version of Cool Page may include Page Rulers. Meanwhile, see the Margins Guide here at CoolPageHelp.com.
