Why Should You Have Your Own Domain Name?

There are many reasons why you should have your own domain name. Obviously, if you have a business, you want a professional image.  You want potential customers to easily find you and remember your name.

example:
www.bobsterlingdj.com is much more professional than something like www.users.freeisp.com/bobsterlingdj/index.html

But I don't have a business, I have a personal website!

Well, to put it simply, having your own Domain Name for your personal website is just plain
COOL!  It gives one the feeling of pride and accomplishment.  Though not a necessity, it does give one a certain amount of pleasure and it will make an impression upon your friends and family members!

example:
www.pazdur.com is cooler than www.members.inetrnet_provider.com/pazdur/index.html
Domain Names & Web Hosting

Having a Domain Name goes hand in hand with having a good web hosting service.  Though it is posssible to use your own domain name with some free webhosts, it has it's drawbacks.  Free webhosts usually will stick ads or banners on your webpages and by and large, free web hosts provide unreliable services.

Nowadays, web hosting is not very expensive at all. One will usually get a large ammount of space on the web server as well as an unlimited amount of email addresses.
